I hope this email receives you well. My name is Armaan and I work at When the Village Meditates, a Montreal-based nonprofit organization that provides meditation programs, discussion groups and wellness retreats for marginalized and racialized communities. I’m writing this email to talk a little bit about our organization’s aims and make those services available to you and the communities that you serve.
Our founder, Fimo Mitchell, founded the nonprofit during the summer of 2020 with the hope of offering a safe and inclusive space where individuals may embark on a journey inward while being part of an empathetic and compassionate community. Some of our weekly offerings include meditation sessions on weekdays at 7 AM and Saturdays at 8 AM, along with a podcast, discussion groups and in-person events. We also have a free event coming up this Saturday, the 30th of July, at Angrignon Park. It is a potluck-style event that will be started off by a guided meditation followed by a mindful discussion circle. Our offerings are provided in both French and English. You can find more information on our website, whenthevillagemeditates.com, or our Instagram – @whenthevillagemeditates_.
We are committed to providing mindful and wellness resources to racialized communities, who bear the brunt of society but rarely have access to self-bettering resources. Additionally, we are very passionate about community and believe strongly in its power for individuals, in addition to communal healing and thriving. We would love for you to inform your community about us as we are looking to build our village and bring more people on their healing journeys. We are also available for collaborations and workshops and specific events! Please don’t hesitate to write back if you would like to schedule a meeting or if you would like any more information.
Let’s heal and thrive together!
