2021 WIBCA SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The purpose of the Scholarship Awards is to recognize students with strong determination and commitment towards higher education and to assist students who have overcome adversity.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
WIBCA scholarship award sponsored by author Alvina Ryan is dedicated to empowering, supporting, and promoting the achievement and academic excellence of a female Black student. To be eligible for this award, the student must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and a bona fide resident of the West Island within the geographical territory of the WIBCA Community – Pierrefonds-Roxboro, L’ Île Bizard, Dollard des Ormeaux, Kirkland, Beaconsfield, Dorval/Lachine, Pointe Claire, Ste-Geneviève, Baie-d’ Urfé, Beaurepaire, and Ste. Anne-de-Bellevue & Vaudreuil.
One (1) award will be given to eligible student as follows:
1. Student in her final year of High School and who has gained admission to CEGEP.
2. Student in or newly admitted to CEGEP or gained admission to University.
3. Student in or newly admitted Vocational or Adult Education.
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate involvement with WIBCA and with the wider community.
APPLICATION FORMS
Application Forms will be made available to all prospective students at each teaching institution or on the WIBCA website.
Considerations for the award will only be for those who have duly completed and submitted their applications within the deadline of 5:00 pm. May 28, 2021.
The awards are presented in the fall of each year.
Note Final date for submission is May 28, 2021

2021 WIBCA EMPOWERED WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
