Workshop: Examining the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Democratic Institutions – Engaging in an Inclusive and Equitable Future

When: 5:00pm – 8:30pm
Who: Any newcomers, immigrants, or first and second generation Canadians (and others with an interest in building more equitable and inclusive communities) who wish to engage in discussion with a lawyer and gain a better understanding of your rights and freedoms and constitutional law in Canada (in English)
What: Examine the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms with lawyer, Martine Cétoute. Discuss democratic values and develop a more in-depth understanding of your rights and freedoms through interactive engagement with relevant current events from a Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms perspective. Develop a stronger sense of how public institutions and laws impact our daily lives as diverse Canadians. Leave better equipped with the knowledge to have a voice in building equitable participation and treatment within Canadian society.
